JUNHEE SHOW REVIEW

Despite January weather in full effect in Chicago, JUNHEE raised the temperature of Distro Music Hall. The show got off to a heated start with “Supernova” being the first track he played to warm up the crowd. JUNHEE’s electric energy could be felt all the way in the back of the venue. He kept the crowd moving with other tracks from his album, “The First Day & Night” like “Sugar” and “You should come.”

The first talking ment came where JUNHEE explained how excited he was to be in Chicago and how crazy the crowd seemed to be going. He then revealed that he had been battling a cold the past couple of days and was not as optimal as he wanted to be but the energy from the fans kept him going. With how much passion he put into the first couple songs, you would not have guessed that he was not feeling 100%.

Our personal favorite part of the night was when he performed a cover of “Soft Spot” by Keshi. We knew that he played this in other cities but were still pleasantly surprised. Immediately after this cover, he transitioned into “Umbrella” which seemed to be a crowd favorite. Chicago crowds just know how to treat an artist and JUNHEE got the red carpet rolled out for him. It wasn’t until he began his cover of “Your Idol” from K-POP Demon Hunters that the crowd seemed to explode. This was the moment where if you weren’t wearing earplugs, you probably felt it later that night with an endless ringing in your ears from the cheers.

On this tour specifically JUNHEE has let his foodie side show, he has made a segment of the show where he tries local food from the city he is in. He tried deep dish pizza this time around on stage and liked it! “That’s way better than the pizza we have in Korea,” he said with a laugh.
JUNHEE closed out the show with a couple songs from A.C.E. and an encore of “Supernova.” Chicago did not let a little cold, weather or sickness, stop JUNHEE from having a good time in our city.
